I think that it is cake.
Angelfood cake with sprinkles in it…. they used to call it a confetti anglefood cake. It was one of my favorites!

It’s an upclose of a slice of moist confetti cake.

Congratulations all! You are all correct! It is cake, yummy yellow cake. I knew the sprinkles would give it away…but I thought it was interesting to see it at such magnification.
